My name is Leila Touak. I am deafblind and a Sense Ambassador.

I really like volunteering and I enjoy being part of Sense events that happen during the year. This is my day volunteering at the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London.

Sally (another volunteer) came to my house at 8.30am on Sunday and I was very happy. We got bus number five to Canning Town Station and the train to Green Park Station. We changed the train to Hyde Park Corner Station. We arrived there and met Emma, Lydia, Sam, and a few people.

We volunteer cheered for the Sense runners; it was fun. I gave them sweets and I met Helen. Helen took photos of us and I was very happy. We did enjoy the day. We had lunch in the park and it was a nice day. I met Sarah there and it was nice to meet her.

After lunch I gave out some sweets again. We talked and I got some Sense sweets and crisps. We said bye-bye to them.

We walked back to Hyde Park Corner Station and got the train to Green Park. We changed the train to Canning Town Station, and then we got on bus number five to East Ham. We arrived home at 2.30pm.

I really enjoyed the day and I’d like to come again!
